Fresh & Fruity Sport Relief raises £107.00

A little help from our local business friends... the fantastic guys at Fam on Fortess Road (aka "Best Greengrocer In the World") were super-generous with their donation for Sport Relief.

Despite a grey and chilly day that seemed to call for hot chocolate and pies rather than fresh fruit platters, there was still joy to be had at the snack stall after school today.

The call for healthy food brings out the genius in parents…  those frozen yoghurt cupcakes fooled many a hungry child!

Thanks so much to everyone who helped to organise and who donated food.  £107.00 for Sport Relief represents a whole lot of snacks sold (214 portions, to be precise) and a lot of sourcing and chopping.

When the funds come rolling in…

Nothing screams, "Easter!" like a chocolate krispie nest.

Great result for the Nursery and Aquila class at Friday’s cake sale. Shrugging off any possibility of end-of-term fatigue, they brought in some fantastic cakes and raised £137.60 to share between them.

We’ve also got the final figure banked for Sports Relief from the whole school’s efforts the previous Friday. The total raised was £290.52 – well done, everyone!

And now, to Thursday’s Hat Parade, Tufnell Park’s legendary annual explosion of creative madness. Fire up the glue-gun and let’s give Mr Baldwin an epoch-making send off.

Do it for your classmates (and yourself, of course).

And we're ever-grateful for staff support, too! (It's tough but... it's for the kids.)

Fruit frenzy for Sport Relief at TPS today

Tufnell Park School went all out for Sport Relief today, with Street Dance in the hall all afternoon, a fantastic Sports Snacks stall in the playground and some fun games alongside.

Healthy just tastes SO good!

Healthy just tastes SO good!

A lot of “thank you”s are due: to everyone who donated healthy food and drinks – the contributions were truly amazing.

To everyone who chopped and prepped and washed up – what a team!

To the school, of course, for continued mind-boggling enthusiasm – bit of extra? Yep, we’ll do it!

And to all of you who spent and ate: the stall alone raised £147.00 and the total raised by the school (at £1 per dancer) is still to come.

Finally, at the risk of an Oscar-length tribute, thanks to the lovely guys at Fam greengrocers on Fortess Road, who handed over a massive basket of fruit and veg, simply saying, “Children are our future.” Well, quite.

Sports spectacular with Arsenal & TPS

It’s Sport Relief this Friday, but Aquila, Draco and Columba classes got in some early training with help from the professionals. Last week, coaches from Arsenal FC came to the school to work with all three classes on a range of football skills, followed by a match.

We don’t know whether they’ve signed anyone yet… but if this Friday’s challenges include dribbling, spatial awareness, superior ball skills – then Years 3 and 4 are already ahead of the game.

Thank you, Miss Livingstone, for the pictures.

Bring us your carrots…

It's ALWAYS good to have a healthy snack to hand!

…and we will juice them! On Friday 21st March, we’re raising money for Sport Relief and the HSA is running a NON-CAKE STALL as part of the festivities.

We need your donations of fruit and vegetables (for snacking or juicing), savoury bakes, popcorn and other healthy options to sell as “sports snacks”. If you’ve got a blender or juicer to lend, please let us know – or come along with it, and help us whizz up fresh drinks for sale.

There will be fundraising sports challenges for children after school as well as during school hours – look out for details in the PACT folders very shortly.  And please bring your food donations to school reception from Thursday afternoon onwards.  All those star-jumping sports fans are going to need something healthy to eat…
