Roll up for the magnificent mathematical challenge!
Take a look at our latest photo gallery covering every single aspect of Maths Week, 3rd-7th February. If you missed any of it at the time, you can catch up now!
So many people helped to make the first of the school’s new subject weeks so successful: Mr Gulliford, of course, who was chief architect and champion of Maths Week; the parents who volunteered to help; and the staff for their enthusiasm, creativity and precious time. The bar is certainly high for Art & Literacy, coming up next, in May.
Finally, thanks as ever to the photographers – without them we’d be reminiscing over a blank screen.
He got us this far… now a new head will have to carry on!
The ad for Tufnell Park School’s new head teacher went out on Monday – take a look at it here. You can download a recruitment pack from the web page if you want to see exactly what the governors have asked for. And do spread the word – obviously, we want the best possible person in the world!
Meanwhile, we hope Maths Week opened up some new horizons too, along with all the fun. Pictures will be on this site soon…
Confused as she is? Let’s work it out together…
We need parents, families, carers to join in with Maths Week – the first of the school’s three special subject weeks this year. Mr Gulliford – Maths Week Champion – is looking for people to discuss with the children how they use maths and numbers in jobs every day: maths is everywhere!
You can’t bake a cake without numbers.
We’re hoping to match at least one person with every single class so that all the children benefit. You certainly don’t have to be an expert – although we’re happy to take experts, too.
Interested? Contact us, or let your class teacher know. But in your excitement, don’t forget the Andromeda / Draco cake sale this Friday. You may need the energy.
Christmas holidays are so 2013, aren’t they? If you really want New Year fun, you have to go to school! So to remind you just how fun it can be, we’ve posted pictures of NSPCC Number Day, back in December, and the associated antics of Bubblz the Maths Clown.
It’s maths! It’s clowning! It couldn’t be more exciting!
Watch out for more posts and information in PACT folders about the school’s Maths Week, coming up in February. We’ll be looking for parents with relevant skills and experience to contribute. Please consider whether you might be someone who can lend a hand.
Other initiatives this term include the development of a new school website: we want your comments, questions and suggestions. Look out for a letter and meetings about that in the first half of term.
And don’t forget that Tufnell Park School Weight Loss Club starts again on Tuesday 14th January, 7pm in the Nursery. Well, it can’t ALL be fun…
