We have a pair of weekend tickets for Latitude Festival next weekend, 13 – 16 July. Very kindly donated to raise money for Tufnell Park School. If anyone is interested in them please contact us with your suggested donation to Tufnell Park School PTA on TufnellParkPTA@gmail.com.
Please note that an additional £50 donation to charity is required per ticket at the gate.
What a fabulous summer fair it was yesterday afternoon. Wonderful stalls and games, delicious food and drink, amazing circus entertainment, fantastic firemen, a very exciting raffle, brilliant music and unbelievably gorgeous weather. Thank you to all who came to enjoy the fun and helped the PTA raise money, and to all those who donated items or ran a stall or cooked or helped to set up or clear up, the list is endless. And a big round of applause for the PTA who organised the entire event. The photo gallery will follow but in the meantime here are a few reminders of the day..
At our meeting on 10 May we discussed ideas for future learning treats – we have already agreed to fund a Shakespeare themed treat for the Autumn term, but as the Sobell Trip has been postponed for this term due to building works, we are looking at funding another science based learning treat for after half term. There were some other great ideas discussed for learning treats for 2018, including something to mark the centenary of World War 1.
The Summer Fair planning is coming along well, with lots of ideas for stalls – your class rep will be asking you to help out with setting up/running the stall allocated to your class.
Before that, the next big event in the calendar is the Fun Run, on 8 and 9 June. The Fundraising Page will soon be live, so please sponsor the children, all of whom will be running as many laps of the school playgrounds as they can in 20 minutes to raise funds to pay for even more activities to make our school an even more fun and exciting place to be! All offers of help for the day are gratefully received.
Drivers & Norris have again kindly agreed to sponsor this year’s summer fair. They have agreed to provide us with £30 for each board put up to promote the fair. If you would be willing to have an estate agents’ board placed outside your home please contact the PTA. Boards will go up roughly a month before the fair, and will be taken down immediately afterwards. If you live in a rented property, please be sure to clear it with your landlord first.
Many committee members will be standing down from their positions at the end of their term in the autumn, so we are on the hunt for more helpers. Please do attend future meetings to see what we get up to. The next meeting takes place in the Tufnell Park Tavern cafe at 8pm on 21 June. Please come along.
Apologies for the short notice but for those of you who have not already heard about it from the newsletter, school noticeboard etc, there is a PTA meeting in the Tufnell Park Tavern at 8pm this evening to discuss plans for the summer fair. Remember the summer fair is organised by the PTA and so won’t happen without us! Hope to see some of you tonight.
We hope you received good feedback from your children about their workshops with Bang On last week, this term’s exciting learning treat funded by the PTA. The pupils certainly enjoyed the brilliant performance at Wednesday’s assembly. Here are some photos of the two days that Bang On spent at the school, having fun in percussion workshops with each class. Look out for pictures of Mr Scarborough’s impromptu performance with them as well. A huge thank you to Caroline, parent of Annika in Delphinus and Nina in Draco, for the photos.
On Friday it looked as though the pupils were having a giant sleepover with everyone (including the teachers!) dressed in their pyjamas for Red Nose Day. The school raised £274.32 (plus an American dime and a Swedish kroner) for Comic Relief, well done!
Tomorrow 28 March – 8pm – in the Tufnell Park Tavern is the first summer fair planning meeting. Do come along to get involved and help, the summer fair is run by the PTA and lots of help is needed. The summer fair will be on Saturday 8 July.
KS1 raised £170.50 today from their rocket themed cake and snack sale. All of that will go towards an activity of their choice. Thank you to all who donated goodies and all who came and bought something, and of course the hard working volunteers who ran the (very busy) stall. Have a lovely weekend all.
Please remember to give any spare outgrown clean nearly new uniform to Andrea on reception as soon as possible for tomorrow’s uniform sale. The sale will take place at the same time as the cake sale, after school. All donations welcome – school dresses, jumpers, tops etc etc. It’s a good excuse for a spring clean!
As usual there was a fantastic array of costumes for World Book Day last Thursday. As well as having lots of fun, the children raised £224.50 to help fund libraries in Africa. An enormous thank you to Tatiana for running the event on behalf of the PTA and to Fiona for the wonderful photos.
