Halloween dress-up day 2015

Perhaps 23rd October 2015 will go down in history as Tufnell Park School’s maddest day ever in terms of everything that was going on.  It was the HSA’s first ever Fundraising Friday, snatched up with eagerness by Cygnus class and by the playground supervisors to buy playground toys for break time.  And it also happened to be a multi-age day in celebration of Black History Month, run by the school… but that is a whole ‘nother story.

For the fundraiser, children came to school in Halloween costume for a voluntary £1 donation.  After school, there was a spooky snack stall and a fabulous “Guess the weight of the pumpkin” competition for which the prize was… the pumpkin, grown on Ms Williams’ own family allotment.  Oh, and a blue-haired lady sold balloons.  It was that sort of day.

We’re very grateful to Michael Preston (Finn’s dad) for the photographs of the amazing assembly, at which Columba class gave an thought-provoking and evocative introduction to Black History Month… to a large company of vampires, witches and ghouls.
