Bit of a shock this morning when everyone turned up to school to find that the infants’ playground has all but disappeared behind safety barriers. Don’t worry, though: it’s going to be worth the inconvenience – and the children were delighted to watch works progress throughout the day.
The playground builders are going to put them to work, too, keeping bamboo plants well-watered before they can be put in the ground.
Jackie the designer has sourced some particularly gnarly lumps of Purbeck boulder on our behalf and our in-house rock inspectors were thrilled. Lovely, distinctive smell, apparently – so different to sandstone – creating an atmosphere redolent of dragons and dinosaurs… And that was just what the teachers thought!
- They’re solid alright.
- Two volunteers test our boulders for size.
- Love work – I could watch it all day.
